For thirteen tense days in 1962, a corner of West Texas was in the cross hairs of the Cold War. Just below the earth, a giant missile silo under the command of Dyess Air Force Base was just an order away from becoming ground zero for nuclear war during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Today, current property owner Larry Sanders gives tours and is working to preserve the legacy of the historic site and the military personnel who worked there.
